Interpersonal skills can very often make or break you in today’s ultra-competitive job market. With thousands of qualified applicants vying for just a few choice openings, it’s more important than ever to stand out from the crowd in a positive way. ACE is helping Project Comeback participants do just that with programming workshops designed to improve communication and socialization.
The Interpersonal Skills class, one of 15 in Project Comeback’s core curriculum cycle, outlines the dos and don’ts of interviewing and drives home the importance of exhibiting good manners in any workplace. It includes a self-evaluation and a mock meeting, which allows participants to practice body language, greeting methods and active listening techniques. “You have to work hard to put the best part of yourself forward,” ACE Education and Vocational Specialist Cassandra Lewis tells the class. Project Comeback participant Mikequan called the lesson “a cool experience.” “It helped me figure out what I should do on the job interview.” For more information on Project Comeback, click here.
