I recently had the pleasure of watching, The Overnighters, a documentary which premiered at Sundance and won rave reviews as well as a Special Jury Award for Intuitive Filmmaking in January. It’s premiering this Friday at the IFC Center here in NYC ,and I highly recommend it.
It was originally brought to our attention because the story line focuses, in part, on homelessness. While the circumstances are very different from our participants, there are universal parallels that it addresses for all homeless individuals.
The film’s distributor is committed to using this film as a conversations started and a tool for ending homelessness locally. They will also be donated 10% of the proceeds for permanent housing.
Jesse Moss, the director, will be in person at the theater for Q&As Friday Oct 10 at 7:25, Saturday Oct 11 at 5:10 & 7:25
, and Sunday Oct 12 at 2:55
